Priya Raghunathan trained as a materials engineer and spent five years as a quality assurance lead for an upholstered furniture manufacturer, where her job was to work out why things failed before customers did.

She runs the destructive side of Placemattress testing: foam density measurement, coil gauge verification, cover abrasion cycles, and the annual sag re-check on the forty-three mattresses the site has kept since 2021.

Priya is the reason our reviews list foam density in pounds per cubic foot rather than repeating a brand’s marketing name for the same layer.
