Which one we would buy

The DreamCloud Premier is the better mattress for most people and the $300 is well spent. The coil unit gives it a full point more support, better edges, and a longer projected life. It is also cooler, though neither is a cool mattress.

The Nectar Premier wins one category outright, and it is a category that matters enormously to a specific group of buyers. Its motion isolation is the best we have ever measured — a 10 lb weight dropped from 12 inches produced a reading at the far edge inside our accelerometer’s noise floor. If your partner’s movement is what wakes you, nothing else on this site comes close.

Above about 230 lb, stop considering the Nectar. Our 240 lb tester recorded measurable sag on ours at year two, and the support score of 7.6 is the lowest of any mattress we still recommend.

Frequently asked questions

Is Nectar or DreamCloud better?
DreamCloud, for most buyers — 8.6 against 8.1 overall, on the strength of its coil support core. Nectar is the better choice only if motion isolation is the specific problem you are trying to solve.
Are Nectar and DreamCloud the same company?
Yes. Both are brands of Resolution Brands, along with Awara and Siena. They share a trial structure and a warranty style, but the mattresses are built differently and perform very differently in our testing.
